The Saint Thomas Choir, conducted by Music Director John Scott, is considered by critics to be the leading ensemble in the Anglican choral tradition in the United States, and among the finest in the world. In the Gothic setting of Saint Thomas Church, the choir performs regularly with period instrument ensemble, Concert Royal, or with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s as part of its own Concert Series, yet its primary raison d’être is to provide music for five choral services each week. Choral Evensong is sung Tuesday through Thursday at 5:30 pm, with Sunday services at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, a schedule which requires the preparation of approximately four hundred sacred choral works each year.
