Dan Locklair’s Since Dawn Performed on March 6 by Ohio State University Chorus and Symphonic Choir in Columbus
Dan Locklair’s Since Dawn will be performed by the Ohio State University Chorus and Symphonic Choir, conducted by Matthew Russell, on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 PM as part of Mr. Russell’s DMA program at Hughes Hall Auditorium on the campus of Ohio State University, 199 College Road in Columbus. Piano accompanist will be Matthew Ebright.
Matthew Russell is doing his doctoral dissertation at Ohio on selected choral works of Dan Locklair. Performers will also include narrator Micah Morgan, soprano Devra Laserson and tenor Ryan Jenkins.
Since Dawn (a tone poem originally created for narrator, chorus and orchestra, based on Maya Angelou’s On the Pulse of Morning) was begun in November of 1994 and completed in June 1995 and was written for the 1996-1997 Wake Forest University Year of the Arts.
