Trumpetings (A Suite of Four Interval Inventions for Two Trumpets)
by
Dan Locklair
Trumpetings (A Suite of Four Interval Inventions for Two Trumpets) is designed to be played as a suite in four movements. However, individual movements may be excerpted from the Suite and played as free-standing Inventions. For best results, the two players should be spaced widely apart. Originally composed in 1988 for solo trumpet, the piece was revised in 1989 for two trumpets.
In order to lessen certain endurance demands in Inventions #1 and 5, some ossia notes are given (as well as optional cuts marked with brackets).
